Big Band Nights

The Swinging Woodpeckers host a series of Big Band Nights around region. Please get in touch if you would like one in your locality.

These events started out as Big Band Dance Nights but are now simpler Big Band Nights.

At these events we perform a range of pieces suitable for entertainment and dancing. The audience is typically split between dancers and those who simply want a good night out.

Seating at tables. The music played is a range of pieces arranged for Big Band from the 1920s to the present day.

The repertoire will include some Ballroom and Latin pieces at strict tempo. Doors open at 7:00pm for a 7:30pm start. Normally the event ends at around 10:00pm. While Sequence Dancing is not specifically catered for, some dancers have performed sequence routines with great success
