The Swinging Woodpeckers refers to a group of separate, but associated bands (some of the musicians are in more than one band). The actual number of groups varies but a selection of the groups are summarized below:

• The Swinging Woodpeckers Big Band – a larger band equipped to play all of the Big Band repertoire plus many other pieces that can be arranged for the line-up [The current Line-up is Flute, Clarinet, Alto Sax(2), Tenor Sax(2), Baritone Sax, Trumpets(4), Trombone(4), Guitar, Piano, Double Bass, Drum Kit plus vocals]
• The Woodpeckers Nonet. A nine piece suitable for smaller venues with a very wide ranging repertoire [The current line-up is Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, Baritone Sax, Trumpet, Trombone, Guitar, Double Bass, Drums, Vocal]. This combo also has a full Strict Tempo Dance Music Repertoire if required
• Left Bank – this group started as a tribute to the work of Django Rheinhardt and Stefan Grapelli with two Guitars, Bass, Alto Sax and Vibraphone
• Indigo Bop – experienced Jazz Trio (Sax, Guitar, Bass), flexible enough and small enough for almost any venue Indigo Bop
• Woodpecker Quartet – a group that has performed in a number of Church occasions, but is by no means limited to that environment. This group comprises Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, French Horn and Trombone
• Ad Hoc groups – we are able to assemble musical ensembles of almost any size and type for your event, given adequate notice- and sometimes at very short notice!

In addition event organisers need to know that as a result of the high standard of musician within the group, we are able to field groups of almost any size to support your event.
